Bigger Isn’t Better...BETTER IS BETTER
No Doubt, if you’re not already, you will be heavily recruited by one or more of the “mega-agencies” out there, representing hundreds of professional athletes. From their perspective in recruiting an athlete, this is beneficial to the player under the “we represent all these guys, so we must be good” theory. In reality, time and time again these players learn that after the recruiting is over, and after that first contract is signed, they have very little or no direct interaction with their “agent”, only support staff and interns until the next contract is signed; the player is no longer a priority, as the new priority is the next new big recruit. In addition, with the conglomerate-type agencies, size simply does not equal stability. These agencies face corporate pressures to simply get more and more clients. Many of these agencies have also been sold and re-sold, have faced scandal, decertification of agents and other employee discipline, and operate solely with a corporate profit motive. That won’t change. That is who they are.

ProStar's in-house services feature contract negotiations, marketing, endorsements, and public relations. In addition, we arrange for and oversee valuable financial planning, money management, tax planning, preparation and filing, insurance needs and various legal services through independent outside sources.

NFL DRAFT PREPARATION
While your work in the spring and performance this fall on the field will determine your opportunity to play in the NFL, there is a lot that happens between January and April that will help determine the level at which your pro career begins. From our initial announcements, through all-star games, the Combine, individual workouts, and the NFL Draft in April, we will work as hard as we can to leave nothing to chance. Our NFL Draftee marketing — all done with the sole purpose of increasing your value — is the most in-depth, comprehensive and impressively packaged visual and statistical data on the market. Making you the most attractive draftee option to NFL teams is our number one priority.

TRAINING and COMBINE PREP
The NFL Scouting Combine is the one opportunity players have to perform in front of the owners, general managers, directors of player personnel, and coaches of all 32 NFL teams. The stakes are too high not to train with the best in the business, and ProStar’s relationships give our clients the definite edge over the competition. Each position brings with it unique stresses and strains and proper preparation requires knowledge specific to the position. Our training goes deeper than just overall performance. We want to make you better at your position. While performance enhancement through increasing core body strength is at the heart of our approach, the attention in other areas such as injury evaluation and prevention, nutritional counseling, recovery and rehabilitation, intelligence testing as well as interview preparation are what make it a complete program. CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS
All Contracts, including playing contracts and marketing and endorsement deals are handled by Paul Sheehy, president and general counsel to ProStar.

Paul, a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor since 1988, is an attorney admitted in both Colorado and California and many Federal jurisdictions. He has negotiated over 400 professional sports contracts. Paul has a broad sports, legal and business background. In addition to his law degree, Paul has earned his MBA degree and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court. He also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business teaching a sports law/contracts class.

Every agency says they get their clients more money...We do it! Most recently for example, we successfully negotiated the highest contract in the history of the NFL for a punter, a package worth $10 million. We also negotiated the highest contract package ever for a player coming from the CFL to the NFL with a total value of over $3.5 million.
