September 7, 2006 -- Congratulations to ProStar
client and New York Jets linebacker Matt Chatham on being named one
of the team captains for the 2006 NFL season!
Matt joins Jonathan Vilma, Shaun Ellis, Chad
Pennington, Pete Kendall and Ben Graham as the
leaders of Gang Green as voted on by their
teammates.
Matt signed with the Jets in the spring as the first
unrestricted free agent signing of the Eric
Mangini/Mike Tannenbaum era, after spending the
balance of his career as a member of the New
England Patriots. While with the Patriots, Matt was
a key contributor on defense and on special teams
while earning three Super Bowl rings.
The 6'4", 253 lb. backer originally out of the
University of South Dakota enters his 7th NFL season
in 2006. He has been a consistent leader on special
teams and has performed very well on defense
whenever given the opportunity, including in a
starting role. His best season statistically at LB came
in 2003 when he racked up 38 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
He has also averaged over 10 special teams tackles
per year over the past 5 years.
Matt joined fellow ProStar client Pro Bowler Mike
Schneck of the Buffalo Bills as two of the 120 NFL
players who are successfully completed the NFL
Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program at
Harvard Business School this past spring.
